South Carolina is attempting to improve its incentives program, by expanding the law to provide an a 20% wage rebate for all hires (up to $1M) with an additional 10% rebate as an incentive for hiring South Carolina residents who earn over $18/hour. The bill also includes an apprenticeship program that rebates 50% of qualified wages. The legislation has passed the state house, and is now under consideration by the senate.
